Indications

Mechanism of Action
Sildenafil works by inhibiting the enzyme PDE5, which results in increased levels of cyclic GMP (cGMP). This leads to relaxation of smooth muscle in the blood vessels of the penis, enhancing blood flow and facilitating an erection when combined with sexual stimulation.
Dosage and Administration
- Recommended Dosage: The usual starting dose is 100 mg, taken approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual activity. Depending on efficacy and tolerability, the dose may be adjusted to 50 mg or 25 mg, or increased up to a maximum of 200 mg.
